The railway station Évora Monte opened his doors again. From now on you can travel as far as you wish, without realy leaving the place: there is no train passing by this small railway station for over thirty years and there will never ride any train anymore.

By opening the doors visual artist Bart Drost - who is taking an artistic residency at Fundação OBRAS in Évora Monte - wanted to make a place where you can travel in your mind, in your imagination. The six rooms of the old building have each their own character. You can pass by and ignore them, or you can come in and watch them carefully.

Drost invited his fellow residents at Fundação OBRAS to take part in what he calls ‘o teatro do passagem’. So artists from all over the world work together for this very special occasion.

* Josef Kleindienst (Austria; www.josefkleindienst.com) will read from his book ‘Freifahrt’

* Regan Halas (USA; http://regandrouin.net/) will do a sound installation by playing the cello

* Ingrid Simons (Netherlands; www.ingridsimons.com) will show her video ‘morte do sol’

* Kris Williamson (Malaysia; www.kriswilliamson.com) will perform ugly poems

* Tim Pettit (USA) will provided electronic and acoustic sound scapes

After the open studio you are warmly invited to come to the Centre of Fundação OBRAS, which is a pleasant 10 minutes nature walk. At OBRAS Ingrid Simons will present her ceramic work.
