Ingrid Simons in Portugal

Today back to the studio again, after building the solo exhibition in the museu Municipal Prof. Joaquim Vermelho in Estremoz yesterday. It has become a beautiful presentation of paintings (oil on linen) and silkscreenprints, of course, all inspired by and made in Alentejo and Fundacao OBRAS. I also recieved the invitation today for the opening this upcoming Sunday the 3th of May at 16.00 h. The brochure will be ready on Sunday. Today I started with a few small night paintings, and in the afternoon I started on my big canvas of 130 x 200 cm. painting outside, inspired by an oak tree in goldgreen colors. To be continued

Today we built the solo exhibition in MADE Museu in Evora I am so happy with the result : "Ingrid Simons | "O azul do Alentejo sob o meu olhar" MADE, Museu do Artesanato e do Design, Evora With an overview of only my Portugues ceramic works : Azulejos e Jarros de Flores em azul e preto 28.04.2015 - 26.07.2015, opening tomorrow! The last few days I started working in my studio Rossio,  Here a preview : This week I will be starting painting outside on my big canvasses 200 x 130 cm.! And I will change studios, and return to the for me familiar Studio Branco

It's really good to be back! The first days I had to get settled, and now I am feeling all at home again! I already took a few beautiful walks, and lots of photos, when the sun was shining, today there is storm and thunder, but beautiful cloud formations! I already started work on a few small paintings and for the first time in Portugal, I will make two big sized paintings of 200 x 130 cm.! Tonight I will be making the sketches for these paintings. This week will be very exhiting : Tomorrow we will be building my solo show  “O azul do Alentejo sob o meu olhar” in the Museu Artesanato e o Design, Ėvora 28.04.2015-26.07.2015  It will be opening on Tuesday AND  On wednesday we will be building the solo show "Raios de Luz" Museu Municipal Prof. Joaquim Vermelho in Estremoz 03.05.2015-21.06.2015 That will be opened this Sunday at 16.00 by Jose Rodrigues Dos Santos We hope to welcome you!! ROADTRIP!!! Started driving Monday, and I will be arriving wednesday, with a lot of work in my car,for not one, but two solo shows : (and arrived safely :)!) T wo exhibitions with Ingrid Simons: "Raios do Luz" in the Municipal Museum of Estremoz (May, June 2015) and "O azul do Alentejo sob o meu olhar" in the Museu do Artesanato e do Design, Evora (May-July 2015) I am so looking forward to these presentations and of course my residency!
