Some photo memories of just a a perfect time in Portugal last fall! Today searching through all of the photos of the last exhibition and residency, for the selection for the publication (and it are A LOT of photos!!) ; what great memories!

Studio view December 2012   Making plans for maybe even a presentation of the publication in Portugal!! And yes...still selecting all the photos for the publication. Tomorrow I will be welcoming one of the participants of the realization of this publication to my studio! Only a few paintings are left...(the paintings on the left of this photo are still available)

One of the newest azulejos made only two months ago in Portugal!   The work on the publication is coming along well, upcoming week we will make decisions about the bookcover! Drawing for the project is almost ready!         

This week everything for the publication is falling into place!! Good news all over! It will be a very special, "collectors item" publication!  The first texts are being translated, the selections of the photos are a lot of work, but with beautiful results (and nice to remember the good times in Portugal!) Today back to my studio! To make a special drawing and..paint!!    

  My first "black" azulejo made with mestre Xico!! And it won't be the last! 

  Still a few studio visits to come that I'm looking forward to!! Today selected some paintings that are maybe going to be the cover photo of the publication... Very exhiting!

Just wanted to show you one of the newest paintings, straight from Portugal! Can't believe I'm "already" in the Netherlands for one month now! And an update fconerning the publication : I had a very inspiring meeting with the designer, it will be a very (very!) special publication! And around April 2013 it will be presented! So now for me a period of selecting all photos, collecting all information for the designer, and making sure all texts are perfectly translated has started!

Tenho saudade :)!!

Vandaag beginnen we officieel met alle voorbereidingen voor de publicatie, dus vanaf vandaag mijn foto's aan het uitzoeken, alle gegevens aan het verzamelen, afspraken met de vormgever, en vol verwachting wachtend op de brieven uit Portugal!! Ik wil ook alvast iedereen bedanken voor jullie ondersteuning! Zonder jullie was dit niet mogelijk geweest! Echt geweldig dat deze publicatie nu gerealiseerd kan worden! We gaan er een heel mooi, speciaal document van maken! Bedankt!   Today we are officially starting with all the preparations for the publication, so starting today I will be sorting my photos, collecting all data, appointments with the designer, and eagerly waiting for the letters from Portugal!! I would also like to already thank everyone for your support! Without all of you this was would not have been possible! Really great that this publication can be realised now! We hope to create a beautiful, really special document! Thank you! Hoje estamos oficialmente começ

This week the new paintings from Portugal, and the last small paintings for the participation project are going to the photographer. And this week hopefully there will be some news concerning the location of the presentation of this publication!   Last day at OBRAS, mist in the early morning! Ludger, thank you so much with helping me with the loading of all the fresh paintings!!   ROADTRIP!!! On my way back to the Netherlands, a 3 day travel!

Just to let you know i arrived safely back in the Netherlands!!! What a perfect time it was...still impressed ;)!! So now time for some promised photos of the last days in OBRAS and therefore Portugal!!     Finishing the final paintings And one of the last days I started a new painting...inspired by our trip to the Algarve!    The last week I also worked a lot at night, to be able to finish the paintings.     And the azulejos I made! I have made three blue azulejos, and two black azulejos (unfortunately one broke during the backing process..). But after this working period with the mestre I am more sure then ever that I need to discover a lot more, so now I am even more inspired to develop my ceramic works further!  And another new inspiration : the traditional portuguese flower vases! After this residency I am even more filled with inspiration and ideas! So I am really looking forward to realizing these dreams and developin

Today I said my goodbyes at OBRAS... What a fantastic time it was...there are no other words to describe...well...I can't even begin to tell you in how many ways this 5 weeks influenced me..I have been lucky to meet so many inspiring people, and now I return home with great memories, an enourmous amount of pictures for the publication and new work, the memory of the beautiful solo exhibition, and of course, in my car, the new paintings and the new azulejos! And so many new ideas...I hope i will find the possibilities to explore them all. So thank you so much Ludger and Carolien (Fundacao OBRAS)!!! And a special thanx to for Margarida e Antonio! E mestre Xico!! And all my "old" and new friend in the beautiful Alentejo/Portugal!! Muito muito muito obrigado!! The beautiful Palacio Dom Manuel em Jardim Publico em Evora! Tomorrow we will be building down the exhibition...already almost a month ago we here opened the exhibition "So os caminhos eram meus"!! Thank you so much everybody for visiting the exhibition, for the nice reaction in the guestbook at the exhibition, and of course for joining us at the opening of this show!!
