Crowdfunding voor project “Hidden Paradise”
(“O paraíso escondido”)

De laatste jaren ben ik een keer per jaar naar Alentejo in Portugal gegaan, om daar bij een officiële residentie te werken om nieuwe schilderijen en nieuw keramisch werk te maken. Dit heeft een enorm grote invloed op mijn werk gehad. Voor mijn schilderijen betekende dat een nieuw thema, nieuwe kleuren en nieuwe kleurcombinaties, en direct geïnspireerd op het landschap, waarin ik letterlijk werk. Maar mijn werk is bijvoorbeeld ook veranderd in techniek : naast mijn pasteuze werk, ben ik ook gaan experimenteren met het  maken van transparanter, etherisch werk.

Tevens dankzij deze werkperiodes is er een nieuw facet in mijn werk ontstaan : mijn keramische werk, in samenwerking met een Portugese meester in de keramiek.
De afgelopen jaren heb ik op uitnodiging reeds 5 mooie solo exposities mogen verzorgen in Evora en Estremoz. De uitnodiging om twee solo exposities in 2017 te gaan maken in een museum in Evora en een museum in Estremoz zijn al ontvangen.
Ik zou heel graag komend voorjaar (2016) weer terugkeren naar deze residentie om nieuw Portugees werk te gaan maken voor deze solo-presentaties en deze exposities te gaan voorbereiden.

Ik wil, onder de titel ‘Hidden Paradise” een serie schilderijen maken geïnspireerd door de prachtige, rauwe Alentejaanse landschappen en verder experimenteren met mijn korte films en kleine installaties, wellicht in combinatie met en in relatie tot mijn schilderijen. Ook wil ik verder gaan experimenteren met het maken van de schilderijen op groot formaat (130 x 200 cm.). En natuurlijk wil ik ook weer graag met de meester in de keramiek gaan samenwerken om nieuwe keramische werken te maken.

Om weer terug te kunnen keren naar deze voor mij magische plek,  de huur van het atelier en het verblijf, de reiskosten en (een gedeelte van) de materiaalkosten te kunnen financieren, ben ik een crowdfunding project gestart.

Ik heb twee kleine sferische zeefdrukprenten gemaakt, waar u uit kunt kiezen.
In gelimiteerde oplage en tegen een zeer speciale prijs :

Crowdfunding for project "Hidden Paradise"

The last years I once a year go to Alentejo in Portugal, to an official residency, to work on new paintings and new ceramic work.

This has had a huge influence on my work. For my paintings it meant a new theme, new colors and new color combinations, and directly inspired by the landscape, in which I literally work.
But my work also changed concerning the technique: in addition to working with my thick masses of oil paint, I experimented with making more transparent, ethereal work.

Also thanks to this working periods a new facet arose in my work: my ceramic work, in cooperation with a Portuguese master in ceramics.

The last few years I was already invited 5 times to make beautiful solo exhibitions in Ėvora and Estremoz. The invitation to make two solo exhibitions in 2017, one in a museum in Ėvora and the other exhibition in the museum in Estremoz are already received.

I would really like to return to this Alentejano residency next spring (2016) to make new Portuguese work for these solo presentations and to make preparations for these exhibitions.

Under the title '”Hidden Paradise" I want to create a series of paintings inspired by the beautiful, raw Alentejan landscapes and experiment further with my short films and small installations, perhaps in conjunction with and in relation to my paintings.
Also I would like to experiment again with making paintings on large format (130 x 200 cm.).
And of course, I would also like to work together with the master in the ceramics to new ceramic works. Tobe able to return again to this, for me magical place, to be able to finance the rent of the studio and my residence, the travel costs and (a part of) the material costs, I have initiated this crowdfunding project.

I made two small, spherical silkscreen prints, of which you can choose from.
